As we enter the fourth week of community life at Barangay Sinai, with all the assessments and evaluation of the programs initiated, we can’t help but reminisce all the things done, being done and about to be fulfilled yet. To make a difference in the lives of people, small and careful steps coupled with proper planning and execution, can lead to big things.
Through our programs we encouraged the people living at Barangay Sinai to have a more active and healthy lifestyle. At the beginning, only a few took part in our activities, but eventually others followed. We are satisfied that many have taken part midway of our implementation. This is a positive indication that people have become more health conscious and aware of the ways and means of leading them to wellness. A strong and clean environment coupled with appropriate health practices have given Sinai a renewed vigor and fresh start from its former self.
Generally, when one takes into account all aspects conceivable to improve people’s lives, everything else will fall in the right places. The simplest things that we life with in life with a passion gave more meaning than all the wealth conceivable. Life is beautiful, be it as things or may not be. The sense of helping is indescribable, it is a feeling that can never be experienced inside a room filled with medical books.
“When people are less focused on self and the problems of the self, there is a king alleviation of stress. There is nothing life reaching out and contributing to the lives of others: to give a person a sense of SIGNIFICANCE and a PURPOSE” – Stephen Post, professor of bioethics at Stony Brook University
