Sinai is situated at the foot of a mountain and its first inhabitants were said to be religious people. They then derived its name from the story of Moses at Mt. Sinai of the bible. It was created on January 5, 1972.
According to the Book of Exodus, Mount Sinai is the mountain at which the Ten Commandments were given to Moses by God. In the Book of Deuteronomy, these events are described as having transpired at Mount Horeb.
